As far as I can see I made no claims of cracking any conspiracies, did not mention a utopia in any way,at no point desired any governmental coddling. What i did was make some statements about how I felt about our government, and since those statements do not align with your beliefs you call it whining, well I'll call that small minded. As such a proud American you should understand that my right to "whine" is one of our greatest freedoms.Maybe you could enlighten me on how we could effect some changes in our policies concerning the environment, drugs, what countries we choose to invade and wage war with, how to keep the religious cultists out of decision making loop etc. etc.You seem to be privy to change making mechanisms.

"Our government is a vile, evil entity as is every other government on this planet."

I guess I simply don't agree with that statement.

The system can work if the elected participants truly serve the masses. Until we the citizens DEMAND such treatment the finger points squarely upon US. As a society, we have yet to apply enough pressure where it hurts. It can be done. All this other stuff is a distraction from the true solution. The government must serve the people. In turn, the people must act with compassion and common sense.

Talk about some utopian ideals, all we need are some honest politicians,a well informed compassionate citizenry and some well placed pressure of some sort that I am not familiar with. This country is populated for the most part with morons,it is still a fairly racist, misogynistic, homophobic, christian based culture.Good luck pulling any compassion and common sense out of the cesspool that is the American public. As for the thought of an honest politician serving the needs of his constituents, you have got to be kidding.I won't dignify that with a response. We have no power over the government at all and can apply no pressure of any consequence.

Yeah, you're right. Too bad they're all not as enlightened as you obviously think you are. I'm sure if you cloned yourself and we could just install you in all the key power positions around the globe, everything would be just peachy.

I made no claims of having any answers or being particularly enlightened on the subjects being discussed, your contribution to the thread seem to solidify my moron point though. Some blather about acid tests in Tehran and how no other country could produce a rock band, the importance of Americana in Grateful Dead iconography, how it seems okay with you for the government to test drugs on unsuspecting recruits because the Dead dosed the kool-aid and so on.I'm pretty sure I could match wits with a dullard such as yourself on most topics.

"I made no claims of having any answers or being particularly enlightened..."

Actually, by calling the public at large a cess pool, that's pretty much exactly what you're doing: implying that you're above it. As for the rest, the personal insult is as always the last refuge of blowhards who can't back up their gab.
